Dr. Roberto Hernández-Orsini
Dr. Hernández Orsini was born in Ponce, and grew up in Juana Díaz, Puerto Rico. He studied Dentistry at the University of Puerto Rico School of Dental Medicine and completed his specialty training in Orthodontics and a Master of Science degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He also earned a Master of Public Health degree from the University of North Carolina.
He has been a faculty member of the Orthodontics Department at the UPR School of Dental Medicine throughout his career and, more recently, at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Dr. Hernández Orsini served as President of the American Board of Orthodontics (ABO), becoming the first Puerto Rican born and raised on the island to hold this distinguished position. He has been involved with the ABO for many years as a Diplomate and Examiner and served on its Board of Directors for eight years. He is also the current President of the Midwest Component of the Angle Society.
His leadership in the orthodontic profession also extends internationally. He was appointed to the Executive Committee of the World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO) as the representative for North America, working alongside colleagues from around the world to promote excellence, ethics, and integrity in the practice of orthodontics.
Dr. Hernández Orsini has published several scientific articles and has lectured at national and international meetings. His hobbies include traveling, working out, running, going to the beach, and playing golf. Above all, he enjoys spending quality time with his family and friends.
Dr. Daniel Díaz Rubayo
Dr. Díaz Rubayo is originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico. He completed his dental education at the University of Puerto Rico School of Dental Medicine, followed by a General Practice Residency at the VA Hospital in San Juan. He later completed his specialty training in Orthodontics and earned a Master of Science degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Dr. Díaz Rubayo is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and serves as a part-time faculty member at the UPR School of Dental Medicine. His commitment to the orthodontic profession extends beyond clinical practice and education. He has been elected to serve as President of the Sociedad de Especialistas en Ortodoncia de Puerto Rico (SEO) for the 2027–2028 term.
Outside of orthodontics, Dr. Díaz Rubayo enjoys spending time with his family, working out, watching movies and TV shows, traveling, and enjoying a good meal.
